HCA Summer Picnic Weathered the Storm!
We were a little concerned about the weather on Sunday morning, but shortly after we started this year's annual Hollywood Neighborhood Picnic, the sun came out and we had a beautiful day of food, fun and music. Many, many thanks to all of our neighbors, Johnny B's, The Black Oil Brothers, Greg Thompson Entertainment, Shamrock Florist and Hollywood Motors.
We posted a few pictures from the event on our Flickr page. Send us your pics and we'll add them to the photo gallery.
"Hurray for Hollywood...Illinois!" Facebook Group
Hollywood neighbor Kathi Krankoski created a Facebook group page for the neighborhood. Check it out and be a part of your online neighborhood.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the Annual HCA Pancake Breakfast a Success!
And congratulations to all of our raffle winners (please support these local businesses):

See Something Wrong? Report It!
The HCA teamed up with SeeClickFix.com to create a map of the neighborhood and allow you to report issues you find that should be addressed by the village boards. Check it out and let us know what you think.
It's Easy to Help Hollywood Elementary
There are many easy ways for you to help Hollywood Elementary (PDF) earn cash, including shopping for your favorite products or at your favorite stores. By participating, the earnings help fund field trips, student activities, and many other academic and social programs. Download the PDF today »
Get Local
We added a "Local Resources" section
to the web site. If you think of information we should share with
the neighborhood, please let
us know.

"Way back in 1915, a group of public spirited citizens residing
the weed-infected, countrified, dirt road community of Hollywood,
IL decided that an improvement association should be formed. They
desired representation in the Village of Brookfield board meetings,
also greatly needed improvements. Thus the Hollywood Citizens
Associations was born."
-- by Edith Hyler from the History
of Hollywood, IL
The boundaries of the Hollywood neighborhood are
south of the Brookfield Zoo, east and north of Salt Creek and west
of the Des Plaines River. Hollywood includes parts of the villages
of Brookfield, Riverside, and Lyons, Illinois.
