Queene Coonley letter to Hollywood House Architect

Last year, the Hollywood House was visited by Abigail Van Slyck, Dayton Professor Emerita of Art History and Architectural Studies, Connecticut College. She was working on a project about "the kindergartens and related buildings commissioned by Queene Coonley in the early 20th century, including the Hollywood Community House."

After she visited the House, she shared with us a letter from Queene Coonley, who donated $15,000 toward the building of the Hollywood House, and William Drummond, the architect who designed it and an associate of architect Frank Lloyd Wright.

The HCA received permission from the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust to share the letter. Mrs. Coonley was clearly very happy with how the Hollywood Community House and how it was being used.
